Taking a Look at the Wonderful Craftsmanship of herzbach
Bathroom & kitchen fittings are suuuuch a huge and exhausting topic, so I thought it would be great to share my experience with one of the many brands out there. If you’ve ever looked into taps, and other fittings to upgrade your home, you might have experienced what everyone has to go through when going down that rabbit hole … Hundred’s of different options. Different colors, different brands, different shapes, different finishes, different sizes, different everything.
HOWEVER, as an interior designer, it’s my job to find the perfect products for my clients. And it’s also my highest demand to find the best and most wonderful products for my clients. To put it in the words of one of my clients: “you are a walking dictionary when it comes to anything related to interior design” (very proud of that description, maybe I should change my IG bio to that, huh?). With that being said, I have tested, seen, researched, and worked with many different bathroom and kitchen fittings to give the best input to my clients. And I’m not gatekeeping here…
One of these wonderful brands I have really learned to love is herzbach. herzbach is a German brand and family business, specialized in bathroom (and kitchen) fittings. Their products are of the highest quality, and come at a very fair price point, featuring many different designs and finishes. One of the things that amazed me straight away with herzbach was that everything is developed through them, in Germany. Some of their wonderful products are even patented! That’s how good they are.
I’ve been very lucky to work with different products from herzbach, and even have their fittings in my own home (in my bathroom and kitchen). When I renovated my bathroom and kitchen last year, I really wanted black fittings that worked. Soooo many people have told me black fittings don’t work, are hard to maintain and simply look bad after you use them. Sorry not sorry, I 120% disagree. In my own home, I have used the herzbach DEEP BLACK (check them out here), and adore them.
In my projects (and my own home), things are designed to actually be used … because what’s the sense of things that can’t be used? I now have my Herzbach fittings for over a year and absolutely love them. No scratches, no peeling or vanishing of the black, no problems whatsoever. They look brand new and function as wonderfully as the day they were installed. To be honest, I actually find them much easier to maintain as I just clean them with a dry cloth once I used them, so they stay clean of water stains. As you can see the craftsmanship and quality in the height and water jet too, I have much less water spilling everywhere, meaning I don’t have to clean as much as with my old fittings.
However, herzbach has much more to offer than the trending black fittings. As one of the few brands, herzbach also offers white, bronze, chrome, gold, and other finishes. What particularly caught my eye were the brand new white fittings (SIRO WHITE) which looked so unique, unlike anything I have seen before. Luckily, together with Marietta from @vonmuto.living, we were able to use SIRO WHITE in her project “Apartment 13” in Vienna, and I think the results speak for themselves.
The white fittings are perfect if you are looking for a special and unique touch for your space, as well as it can either be an eye-catcher (for example if you use them in front of a accent wall) OR a very clean and minimalistic addition (for example if you use them in front of a white, neutral wall). In contrast to the DEEP BLACK series I used in my own home (in front of a colorful, floral wallpaper), we used the SIRO WHITE fittings in a very clean and calm atmosphere at Apartment 13, with the goal to keep it very minimalistic.
Overall, we’ve been extremely happy with the results and the function of the products. The delivery and installation was easy, the water jets are perfect, and the look … I mean what can we say, it’s simply stunning. Very excited to use new, different styles from herzbach in the future! How do you like the results? They are so different yet both so elegant and pretty (in my opinion, but I might be biased ;)). Have you used black or white fittings in your home before?
