For any budget

If you read our article about how to make a home feel and look expensive, you know that the scent of a space influences the atmosphere drastically. Who hasn’t experienced entering a place recognising the good (or bad) smell before anything else? And who hasn’t felt addicted to a good scent in a hotel, store, apartment?

If you want to come home to your rooms smelling incredible, you should definitely keep on reading and checking out our favourite room scents which we’ve been using and testing as interior designers over the past years. They are not listed in any particular order and depend on personal preference.

1. Jo Malone

Basically, any Jo Malone scents are insane – no matter if you choose their perfumes, candles, or home scents. If you want a unique yet super fresh, expensive scent, Pomegranate Noir or Myrrh & Tonka might be for you.

2. H&M Home

This might be surprising for some but the home scents from H&M Home work really well! They last long and spread a lovely smell across a room. Our favourite: Sublime Patchouli as a scented candle or room diffuser.

3. ZARA Home

In our opinion, the quality of the ZARA Home room diffusers vary (some are very strong, some a little too gentle). However, the scents are stunning and work particularly well in smaller rooms such as the bathroom. Besides their room diffusers, we are a big fan of their home sprays which last long and give an intense but nice scent to a room. Our favourites: Basil or Poetic Mind.

4. LOEWE

By now, LOEWE is quite well-known for their exclusive and unique perfumes which is true for their scented candles and soaps, too! It’s so hard to choose a favourite here but it will probably be Oregano or Ivy. The candles in particular are extremely strong as well as beautiful so definitely worth a try! Their home fragrances are lovely too, however, smell a bit different to the candles, in our opinion.

5. MUJI

At 3daysofdesigns in Copenhagen we fell in love with a particular room diffuser scent in a store and were lucky enough that the owners told us the name of it! It was from MUJI and called Hinoki. Besides this scent, also Yuzu was added to our list of favourite scents from MUJI. We are using an aroma diffuser for oil which also happens to be great to prevent you from having dry air in your home.

6. Aesop

If you’re not already an Aesop fan, you better run and try them now! Besides their amazing soaps and skin care products, Aesop also has their own room diffusers and incense sticks that make any space smell fresh and clean. If I’m honest, I never really liked incense sticks but the ones from Aesop are great.

7. TRUDON

TRUDON offers a bunch of different, luxurious scents. Anyone will find a scent they love in their selection! Although on the pricier side, TRUDON products are of the highest quality and last for a long time.

… but of course, there are more so there will definitely be another blogpost on this coming soon. What are you favourite room diffusers and room scents? Anything we missed? Let us know in the comments!

The Most Beautiful Summer Tableware On Earth

While my little Italian barn is far from ready, I just couldn't resist of already getting some beautiful interior design pieces for once it's finished. I can only imagine my life there, sitting on the terrace, overlooking the lake, eating Italian food, and enjoying life. There's still a long journey and even more work ahead, but hey, this tableware lifts my mood so much, AND makes sure to keep me motivated.

I Bought The Most Beautiful House In Italy!

In August 2024, I finally decided it's time for change. Time for a new beginning, time for a new project, and time for a new challenge. While I wouldn't say it was a rushed decision, we did decide quickly which direction we'd wanted to head towards, which was a house to renovate, surrounded by nature, in Northern Italy. I wanted to be close to water, he wanted to be close to the mountains, and anyone who's been to Lake Como knows it combines both. The perfect place to be.
