My experience with a custom-made Zehnder Quaro

I’m sure you have seen or used decorative towel radiators before, as they are not uncommon these days. However, did you know that there are actually pretty ones on the market?

When I decided to renovate my bathroom, I knew immediately that my old towel radiator had to go. It was ugly, old (the white was already turning yellowish), and it also didn’t work, as it was leaking. On one hand, I wanted a proper towel radiator so that I could enjoy a warm and dry towel when getting out of the shower. On the other hand, my landlord didn’t allow me to change any pipes, which is why I needed to work with a towel radiator that would fit the existing pipes.

For this, I wanted a functional yet aesthetic solution, and of course, had to think of Zehnder when I started my planning. Zehnder is a Swiss company and one of the global leaders when it comes to solutions for a healthy indoor climate. This includes ventilation systems and decorative radiators.

My goal for my new decorative towel radiator was to have something sleek, with a classical and elegant design. Furthermore, I needed the decorative towel radiator to be relatively close to the wall, as I couldn’t adjust/change the existing pipes.

How I Chose My Decorative Towel Radiator

As an interior designer, a lot of my ideas are not just a standard and actually require planning as
well as custom made solutions. Therefore, I appreciate working with suppliers that are open-
minded and problem solvers, so my visions can be carefully evaluated and brought to life.
Furthermore, I consider my interior design style as timeless, so I focus on partner brands that offer
high quality products with designs that will not be outdated any time soon.

Naturally, I think it is normal to sympathize more with some brands than with others when
researching and making a first contact. Some brands will combine designs you like, the quality
you appreciate and a good customer communication all together. For me, I found this at Zehnder.
Although there are so many beautiful designs from Zehnder, the Zehnder Quaro really caught my
eye as it had everything I wanted: a sleek look with a classical and elegant design. Now that I
knew the product I wanted, I just needed to make sure that all my special wishes would be
implementable …

How We Solved All Potential Difficulties

All of the worries I had (because I needed to work with the existing pipes and connections)
completely disappeared after my first talk with Zehnder. I cannot even say how much I love
companies who have a problem-solving mindset and philosophy, which Zehnder definitely has. It
is so uncommon to find companies that actually tell you: “We’ll make it work!” Instead of “No, it’s
impossible.” I really appreciated this aspect of working with Zehnder.

Long story short, everything was possible—from height to RAL color, to a custom-made width,
and even suitable adapters (in a matching color!) for the pipes. And if you know me, you know I
love anything that can be personalized. Before I placed my order, I received different technical
drawings with the exact measurements so I could be sure my customized decorative towel
radiator would fit.

Once my Zehnder Quaro had arrived, it was finally time to install this beautiful piece, which was
easy. Everything worked out just as planned: the size, colour, and also adapters for the pipe
worked amazingly. I can’t even explain how happy I was when I took my first shower and got a
warm (!) towel afterward – the first time since moving in around 3 years ago! A true game
changer 🙂

The Results

For sure, changing your decorative towel radiator into one that works AND looks fabulous is one
of the best transformations any bathroom can have! And in case you’d like something fancier than
my classical Zehnder Quaro, Zehnder also has amazing other decorative towel radiators which
sometimes look more like sculptures.
