A magical trip to DAS.GOLDBERG in Bad Hofgastein, Austria

There is literally nothing I would’ve changed during my stay at DAS.GOLDBERG. A unique hotel located in the most stunning area in Austria, surrounded by historical villages and pure nature. The room, the service, the food, the spa, everything was simply perfect.

During my stay, I overheard another befriended couple speak about their arrival at DAS.GOLDBERG, which I’d like to share as I couldn’t agree more with them! They said that they felt at complete peace as soon as they entered the hotel and had their first interaction with the staff. And what can I say … As soon as I entered the hotel, I was in total holiday mood.

We were welcomed by the kindest staff which offered us arrival drinks and had a very kind, knowledgable member of their staff sit down with us and chat about our stay, the hotel, the activities, food, spa, etc. I personally adore receiving information about my stay, therefore, I loved this greeting upon our arrival.

We were brought to our gorgeous and huge room with an open spa area, a large shower, a free-standing bathtub, our own fireplace, a stunning balcony with the most amazing mountain and town view, a chill-out area and of course, a very comfortable bed. It was hard to decide between all the amazing opportunities we had at DAS.GOLDBERG, as we loved our room, the lobby area, the bar, the restaurants and mainly, the spa.

The Most Incredible Spa Area I Have Ever Seen

Now, the spa area alone was huge. Many different chill-out areas with different styles (outdoor and indoor), a large heated infinity pool overlooking the valley AND the ski slopes which run directly next to it. Such a cool and unique feature! There was also a natural pond to bath in (if you’re brave enough with the freezing temperatures in spring), different saunas, shower areas, treatment rooms, a snack and drink area and … now to my favorite part: the famous GOLD.STOLLEN from DAS.GOLDBERG.

Over 420,000 kg of Austrian Stone To Relax Under in 42 degrees Celsius

The GOLD.STOLLEN is also known as a “healing cave” and was made specifically for DAS.GOLDBERG. Over 420,000 kg of stone was exclusively brought together to create a this sauna-like cave where one can relax in one of the many private areas in a climate of 42 degrees Celsius. The stones are said to have a healing effect on the body and was the perfect place to recover after a long day on the slopes. My personal highlight of the spa area, as it is something extremely unique and simply stunning.

Food At DAS.GOLDBERG: A Lovestory

Besides the breathtaking spa area, I also need to speak about the delicious food we got to experience at DAS.GOLDBERG. A rich breakfast buffet (with an à la carte order option including waffles, cobbler, eggs and drinks), a snack in the afternoon and an iconic 5-course dinner menu were a real experience. We were once again greeted by very well-trained and professional staff who were all briefed on my food allergies. I felt extremely safe eating at DAS.GOLDBERG, something that doesn’t happen often when I travel!

The food in general was insane (in the best possible way!). We were able to choose from many different menu options daily and enjoyed creative, authentic food. The atmosphere in the different dining areas was very comfortable too, relaxed yet chic. We really enjoyed this!

Live Music, Late Night Spa and Turn-Down Service

I could fill a book with all the lovely experiences at DAS.GOLDBERG but to keep things short, the following things need to be mentioned:

On three days of the week, you’ll be able to enjoy live music in the lobby/bar area of DAS.GOLDBERG. Enjoy drinks at the bar or at the biggest fireplace I have ever seen while listening to lovely music. Or you can enjoy the spa area until midnight on selected days.

Lastly, I’d like to address the wonderful turn-down service that DAS.GOLDBERG offers: While you’re enjoying your dinner, their fairies are out working. Once you come back to your room, our beds were made, the curtains were closed, the towels were renewed and the bathroom was cleaned. Definitely a service that is not so common these days but really makes a difference.

Safe to say we absolutely loved this incredible experience and cannot wait to be back!
