Flush plates, mirrors, soaps, towels, and other items you need
Bathrooms are a place where one should be able to truly relax. Especially in your own bathroom at home! However, I notice that a lot of people find it extremely difficult to actually find the right products to make their bathrooms shine.
But what makes it so difficult to even get started styling and decorating a bathroom?
Over the last couple of years of working in the field of interior design, I noticed a lot of questions arising for bathroom designs. I think a massive point of why bathrooms never seem to be designed correctly is that a lot of them feature standard solutions or were not designed by the people living in it. Particularly in rentals, bathrooms often seem like a lost place, as you are bound to the tiles and general layout used. However, as always, I believe that ANY bathroom holds a lot of potential! It can easily be upgraded by working with a few products which can already change the look completely.
Okay, so let’s run through the options we have … If your bathroom doesn’t look the way you want it too, we basically have 2 options:
- Renovate completely (if you have the money, time, and possibilities), OR
- Embrace what you have and decorate it nicely!
Since renovating a bathroom is probably the more niche related and not possible for everyone, this blogpost will focus on the second option: how to embrace what you have by decorating it nicely! For that, there are a few options without having to rip out the full bathroom you have.
Let’s take a look at which products you can use to change your bathroom in an easy way (decorating):
- Soap & shower gel: Nice bottles change everything! Even though these products can be expensive, I view them as a one-time investment. Spend the amount once and end up re-filling the bottles with other soap/shampoo … or just buy it again 😉
- Towels: SO underrated!! Pretty towels can change the full look of a bathroom. Have an ugly bathroom? Well, nice towels can make it look cooler.
- Mirrors: what you have above your vanity makes a big difference! Have a boring vanity? Maybe we fancy mirror will make it stand out.
- Faucets: The most underrated option out there! Changing your faucets isn’t actually too hard, and often also not very expensive to have it installed. Therefore, I highly recommend considering this option!!! I mean, who hasn’t seen incredible faucets and thought: damn, I love this!
- Accessories like towel holders, toilet paper holders, etc.: Decor items are important. If you want nice towel holders or toilet paper holders, the overall result can improve so much. There are so many cute options out there!
- Flush plates: Did you know you can change them?P Hell yeah! I bet you didn’t know what beautiful options are out there… just make sure to check if the flush plate is compatible.
- Nice scent: the smell in rooms has a lot to do with how you feel about it. Therefore, make sure your bathroom smells nicely! Room diffusers, candles, and other elements play a big role in it.

I have seen many bathrooms that had ugly tiles, not ideal room layouts, or other difficulties. However, by embracing it and adding some cool elements, the bathroom can look super cool. Trust me!

Of course, this blogpost is not enough to cover all of the options and products we have, however, these products are a fantastic start and good overview for you. SOAP & SHOWER GEL
My favorite soap and shower gel is definitely from Aesop! The scent is incredible and they actually last extremely long. My hand soap usually lasts 3/4 of the year!! Smells incredible, looks beautiful, and just makes sense! Also amazing as a gift.
Other options I love …
TOWELS
When it comes to towels, I recommend to work with soft and natural materials as well as with nice details. Nice stitching? Nice decor elements such as fringes or tassels? I’m sold!
MIRRORS
Full body mirrors or smaller mirrors? Mirrors leave an impression and also have the effect of making a room look bigger. Furthermore, they are usually quite a central point of the bathroom, as you and your guests will look into it once washing their hands. So you can be sure that it’s something that stands out! Therefore, I always recommend to make that count.
As always, make sure the mirror is smaller in the width than the vanity!
A tiny mirror is always a good idea… this one is a true gem and perfect for tiny bathrooms, where you don’t have enough space.
FAUCETS

ACCESSORIES
The easiest and quickest way to upgrade your bathroom. Pretty towel holders, decor elements, and other items make the space unique and add a personal touch to it. I highly recommend that you do not work with standard solutions and focus on the lovely pieces that are out there.
FLUSH PLATES
How can I not share this incredible option to transform your bathroom? Ugly toilet? No problem! Make the flush plate stand out. Make sure it’s compatible and also view other design options out there. Here are only a few examples!
