… from an award-winning interior designer

Hi guys! How are you all doing? I’ve been receiving a few questions regarding my interior design wishlist … while it is a topic that’s not really discussed in my personal surrounding, I of course have an interior design wishlist!!! A delulu wishlist haha.

Now, maybe you wonder why this topic is not talked about in my personal surrounding … Usually, my family and friends say that it is work related and therefore not really something I should wish for. And you know what? They are not wrong. I am so lucky to work with incredible brands, who often even gift or lend me their products to test them. So it doesn’t always really make sense to gift me something interior related. And to be honest, I might also be a little specific with my wishes. Colors, finishes, sizes vary drastically and I am very precise and stubborn with them, haha!

But let’s take a closer look at the things that are on my wishlist. Many of these have actually been on my wishlist for years, and I am simply waiting for the right moment to finally buy them. One thing that I always take care of when considering my purchases is if it fits a project. I never just buy something and end up having it stored away, as it doesn’t work with the overall interior design style I have. Normally, the interior design concept is what comes first. Products have to fit the interior style.

However, in some cases, where I really want a specific piece, I can also make an exception and build the interior design concept around it. This usually works best when you decide to include a larger, design piece – ideally a furniture piece such as a sofa, lounge chair, lamp, table, etc. For a vase? I recommend NOT to plan the interior around a single vase, haha. But furniture? Sure!!! Sometimes it might even make sense to actually plan the interior design around a specific piece of furniture, as this can also lead to you saving money, due to using what you already have and working with what works best in the space.

Alright, but let’s finally dive into the topic. 13 things that are on my wishlist, as an award-winning interior designer! Let me know if you guessed that any of these would be on my list? I should maybe mention that they do not come in a particular order.

1. Mohair Blanket by Lena Rewell

This mohair blanket is a true dream. I have loved it above anything ever since seeing it in person. I was sooooo close to buying it in Stockholm a few years ago but didn’t know how to transport it back, so it still sits in my wishlist, waiting for a moment where I can justify to spend nearly 1.000€ on a blanket 😁

2. Flag Halyard Chair by PP Mobler

A dream that maybe never comes reality because this chair is EXPENSIVE! Vintage, not suuuuper many available, and if I invest into something that expensive, I want the condition to be impeccable. But just look at this stunner … how gorgeous can a chair be? I think I’d never get up again …

3. Spiky Tableware by Carl Hansen and Son

A girl can dream, right? I am obsessed with this tableware ever since seeing it for the first time at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen. (If you don’t know what that is, read more about the design fairs and festivals here). It’s a dream on my wishlist and I would love to finally get it. However, I do also want to have stuff that is practical and I fear the spikes might be uncomfortable when touching it AND maybe not dishwasher approved? (I can hear them break off in my head already …).

4. Stripes Collection by Mateus

Not gatekeeping here… another tableware collection I would love to own. Why am I SO into tableware at the moment? This one is so pretty. Soooooon.

7. Jack Penny Painting

Literally dreaming of this gorgeous painting from Jack Penny. Would love to own one one day, however, I also need the right space for it 😉
